Keep on / Go on / Carry on (K/G/C)

The usage of 'Keep on / Go on / Carry on' is very common in English conversation. All the three express the meaning to continue or persist in doing something. When a work is continuing constantly, then 'Keep on / Go on / Carry on (K/G/C)' is used in English. Any one of the three, can be used but mostly 'Keep on' is used in sentences.

'Keep on / Go on / Carry on' kaa English bolchaal meiN prayog bahut common hai. Teeno kisee kaarya ke lagaataar jaaree yaa bane rahane kaa arth vyakt karate hai. Jab koi kaam lagaataar hotaa rahataa hai to aise vaakyo ko ham 'Keep on / go on / carry on' kee madad se anuvaad karate haiN. Keep on / Go on / Carry on (K/G/C) meiN se koi bhee ek kaa prayog kar sakate haiN lekin jyaadaatar 'Keep on' kaa prayog kiyaa jaataa hai:


K/G/C in Imperative Sentences

Rule : K/G/C on + Verb (Ist Form) + Ing + Object.

Vaakya Sentence
Hameshaa Bhagwaan ko yaad karate raho. Keep on praying to God always.
Hameshaa Bhagwaan kee praarthanaa karate raho. Go on praying to God always.
Hameshaa Bhagwaan kee aaraadhanaa karate raho. Carry on praying to God always.
College meiN roj aate rahiye. Keep on coming to college daily.
DauDate raho. Keep on running.
Usake karj ke baare meiN use yaad karaate raho. Keep on reminding him about his debts.
Usase dooree banaaye rakho. Keep on maintaining distance from him.
Usakee gatividhio par najar rakhate raho. Keep on watching her activities.
Us par ghoorate mat raho. Don't keep on staring at her.
Usako sandesh mat bhejate raho. Don't go on writing messages to him.
Apane sankalp ko yaad karate raho. Keep on remembering your commitments.
Tution class lete raho. Please carry on taking tuition class.
BachchoN ke man meiN sadaguN biThaate raho. Keep on inculcating virtue in the children.



K/G/C in Present Tense

Rule : Subject + K/G/C on + Verb(Ist Form) + Ing + Object

Vaakya Sentence
Main college meiN paDhaataa rahataa hooN. I keep on teaching in the college.
Pitaajee roj subah akhabaar paDhate rahate haiN. Father keeps on reading the newspaper daily in the morning.
Bhattacharya picture dekhataa rahataa hai. Bhattacharya keeps on seeing movies.
Naitik kahaaniyaaN naujawaano ke man meiN achchhe aadarsh sthaapit karatee rahatee hai. Moral stories keep on inculcating sound principles in the young.
Kuttaa bhonkataa rahataa hai aur haathee chupachaap chalataa rahataa hai. Dog keeps on barking and elephant keeps on walking quietly.
Vah Angrejee bolachaal kaa abhyaas karataa rahataa hai. He keeps on doing practice of English conversation.
Vah us vyakti kaa intejaar karataa rahataa hai jo Angrejee usase achchhee tarah jaanataa hai. He keeps on looking for a person who knows English better than him.
Sainik apanee sakht duty kharaab mousam meiN bhee nibhaate rahate haiN. Soldiers keep on performing their hard duties even in rough weather.
LaDakiyaaN college meiN canteen meiN chahachahaatee rahatee hai. Girls in college keep on chattering in canteen.
Balwaan log doosaroN par varchasva banaaye rakhate haiN. Mighty persons keep on dominating others.
Bhagwaan har kShaN sabakee dekhbhaal karate rahate haiN. God keeps on watching everyone at every moment.

Rule : Subject + K/G/C on + Verb(2nd Form) + Ing + Object

Vaakya Sentence
Manoj gappe lagaataa raha. Manoj kept on gossiping.
Hamaare paDosee shor machaate rahe. Our neighbours kept on making noise.
Vah tumhaaree madad karataa rahaa. He kept on helping you.
Vey samaan laadate rahe. They kept on loading the luggage.
Vey samaan laadate rahe. They carried on loading the luggage.
Vey samaan laadate rahe. The went on loading the luggage.
Mantreejee logo ke kahane ke baavajood apanaa bhaaShaN dete rahe. The Minister kept on delivering his speech in spite of people's telling.
Sarla apanee maa kee salaah ke virudh apane boss ke saath der tak kaam karatee rahee. Sarla kept on working late with her boss against the advice of her mother.
Madhu apanee ichchhaa ke vipareet logo kee aankhoN kaa nirikShaN karatee rahee. Madhu kept on examining peoples eyes, against her will.
Vah mail likhataa rahaa. He kept on writing mails.
Vah apanee maa ke dehaant par rotee rahee. She kept on weeping on the demise of her mother.
Vah achchhee naukaree ke liye takanikee jaankaaree kee khoj karataa rahaa. He kept on pursuing technical knowledge to get a good job.
Kyaa vah usee company meiN kaam karataa rahaa? Did he keep on working in the same company?

Rule : Subject + K/G/C on + Will/Shall + Verb(Ist Form) + Ing + Object

Vaakya Sentence
MaiN is college meiN paDhaataa rahungaa. I will keep on teaching in this college.
MaiN is college meiN paDhaataa rahungaa. I will go on teaching in this college.
MaiN is college meiN paDhaataa rahungaa. I will carry on teaching in this college.
Tumhaaraa bhaai khelataa rahegaa. Your brother will keep on playing.
Ham apanaa course doharaate rahenge. We shall keep on revising our course.
Ham logoN kee sewaa karate rahenge. We will keep on serving the people.
Ham apane bachchoN se pyaar karate rahenge. We will keep on loving our children.
Bachche chhoTee chhoTee baatoN par laDate rahenge. Children will keep on falling out on trifles.
Purush hameshaa kamaataa rahegaa aur mahilaanye hameshaa kharch karatee rahengee. Male will always keep on earning and female will always keep on spending.
Main achchhee purstake paDhataa rahungaa. I will keep on reading good books.
Vah mujhe karaar final karate waqt Tokatee rahegee. She will keep on interrupting me during finalisation of the contract.
Neeta doosaroN ko doSh detee rahegee. Neeta will keep on blaming others.
Ham apane parivaar ke sadasyo ke beech meiN pul/setu banaate rahenge. We will keep on making bridge among our family members.
