Passive Voice of Modals

Modals are special Helping Verbs. Modals express the mood of a the verb, such as ability, possibility, necessity or another condition. They are used with a main verb to form a sentence and it remains same whether Subject is singular or plural. Modals are - May, Might, Can, Could, Will, Would, Shall, Should, Must, Ought to. We will learn in detail about Modals separately. Here we will focus on Passive Voice of Modals.

Rules of Passive voice of Modals (mentioned below) show that helping verb 'Be' is added after Modals and 3rd form of verb is used for making Passive Voice.

Modals ek tarah ke special Helping Verbs hai. Modals verb ke mood ko vyakt karate hai jaise - saamarthyataa, sambhaavanaa, aavshyaktaa yaa doosaraa koi bhaav. Modals mukhya verb ke saath vaakya banaane meN prayukt hote hai aur isame Subject ke singular yaa plural hone se koi parivartan nahee hotaa. Modals hai - May, Might, Can, Could, Will, Would, Shall, Should, Must, Ought to. Inake baare meiN vistaar se alag seekhenge. YahaaN ham Modals ke passive voice par dhyaan kendrit karate hai.

Modals ko Passive Voice banaane kaa neeche diyaa huaa niyam dikhaataa hai kee helping verb 'Be' Modals ke baad lagataa hai aur Verb kee 3rd form istemaal hotee hai.

Tum apanee samasyaa bataa sakate ho. You may tell your problem. Your problem may be told by you. Tumhaaree samasyaa tumhaare dwaaraa bataai jaa sakatee hai.
Tum usakaa naam poochh sakate ho. You may ask her name. Her name may be asked by you. Usakaa naam tumhaare dwaaraa poochhaa jaa sakataa hai.
Vah meree pustak paDh sakataa hai. He may read my book. My book may be read by him. Meree pustak usake dwaaraa paDhee jaa sakatee hai.
Vah shaayad apane raaj naa khole. He might not reveal his secrets. His secrets might not be revealed by him. Usake raaj usake dwaaraa shaayad khole jaa sakate hai.
Meree Maa shaayad mujhe pahaaD par jaane kee ijaajat naa de. My mother might not permit me to go on hills. I might not be permitted by my mother to go on hills. Mujhe meree Maa dwaaraa pahaaD par jaane kee ijaajat shaayad nahee mil sakatee hai.
Mareej car chalaa sakataa hai. The patient can drive car. Car can be driven by the patient. Car mareej ke dwaaraa chalaai jaa sakatee hai.

Netaa apane party ke logo ko samajhaa nahee sakaa. The leader could not convince his party men. His party men could not be convinced by the leader. Usakee party ke log netaa dwaaraa samjhaaye nahee jaa sake.
MaiN samajhotaa nahee kar sakaa. I could not make compromise. Compromise could not be made by me. Samjhotaa mere dwaaraa nahee kiyaa jaa sakaa.
Tumhe use aawaaraa kutto ke baare meiN saavdhaan karanaa chaahiye. You should warn him about stray dogs. He should be warned about stray dogs by you. Use aawaaraa kutto ke baare meiN tumhaare dwaaraa saavdhaan kiyaa jaanaa chaahiye.
Use Swati kaa prastaav nahee Thukraanaa chaahiye. He should not reject Swati's proposal. Swati's proposal should not be rejected by him. Swati kaa prastaav usake dwaaraa nahee Thukraanaa chaahiye.
Vah mujhe ijaajat nahee degee. She would not allow me. I would not be allowed by her. Mujhe usake dwaaraa ijaajat nahee dee jaayegee.
Avyan bachcho ke pakSh meiN aawaaj uThaayegaa. Avyan would raise voice in favour of kids. Voice would be raised by Avyan in favour of kids. Aawaaj Avyan dwaaraa bachcho ke pakSh meiN uThaai jaayegee.

School ko jaroor chhuTTiyaaN denee chaahiye. Schools must give holidays. Holidays must be given by schools. ChhuttiyaaN school dwaaraa avashya dee jaanee chaahiye.
Kyaa tumhe use bulaanaa hee chaahiye? Must you call her? Must she be called by you? Kyaa vah tumhaare dwaaraa bulaaai hee janee chaahiye?
Tumhe apane maataa pitaa kaa kahanaa maananaa chaahiye. You ought to obey your parents. Your parents ought to be obeyed by you. Tumhaare maataa pitaa kaa kahanaa tumhaare dwaaraa maanaa jaanaa chaahiye.
Avyan ko har saal apane daadaa-daadee se milane Bharat aanaa chaahiye. Avyan ought to visit India every year to meet his grand-parents. India ought to be visited by Avyan every year to meet his grand-parents. Apane daadaa-daadee se milane Avyan dwaaraa har saal Bharat aanaa chaahiye.
