Rule of 'ING'
We add 'Ing' with Verb when it is used in Continuous Tense and Perfect Continuous Tense of Present, Past & Future Tenses and for making
present Participle e.g. Cheating, playing, running. General Rule of adding 'Ing' with verb is as under:
Ham 'Ing' ko verb ke saath joDate hai jab isakaa istemaal present Participle banaane meiN aur Present, Past va Future Tense ke
Continuous Tense aur Perfect Continuous Tense meiN hotaa hai e.g. cheating, playing, running. Verb ke saath 'Ing' joDane kaa rule
is prakaar hai:
Rule One - When a vowel comes just before the last Alphabet of the Verb, for adding 'Ing', we just write last Alphabet twice/double
and then write 'Ing' at the end of the Verb.
Rule One - Jab kisee verb ke ant waale Alphabet se ekdam pahale agar ek vowel kaa prayog ho to aise Verb meiN 'Ing' lagaate
samay ant waale Alphabet ko double karake 'Ing' lagaate hai.
Dig = Digging
Run = Running
Cut = Cutting
Shut = Shutting
Map = Mapping
Rule Two - When a vowel comes just before the last Alphabet of the Verb and the last Alphabet is 'x', 'y' or 'w', then Rule number
One does not apply and only 'Ing' is added with the Verb.
Rule Two - Jab kisee verb ke aakhiree Alphabet se ekdam pahale ek vowel ho kintu aakhiree Alphabet 'x', 'y' yaa 'w' ho to upar diya
huaa rule One laagu nahee hotaa hai apitu Verb ke turant baad kewal 'Ing' joD diyaa jaataa hai.
Play = Playing
Box = Boxing
Tax = Taxing
Draw = Drawing
Blow = Blowing
Rule Three - When two vowels come just before the last Alphabet of the Verb, for adding 'Ing', we just add 'Ing' at the end
of the Verb.
Rule Three - Jab kisee verb ke aakhiree Alphabet se ekdam pahale ek se jyaadaa vowel kaa prayog ho to aise Verb ke ant meiN kewal
'Ing' lagaate hai.
Lead = Leading
Load = Loading
Cheat = Cheating
Meet = Meeting
Pool = Pooling
Rule Four - When the last Alphabet of the Verb is 'E', then 'Ing' is added after removing last Alphabet 'E'.
Rule Four - Jab kisee Verb kaa last Alphabet 'E' ho to 'E' ko kaaTakar 'Ing' likhaa jaataa hai.
Write = Writing
Rise = Rising
Vote = Voting
Come = Coming
Leave = Leaving
Rule Five - The above four rules are applicable in about 95% cases. You should make a list of
balance 5% verbs which are not covered in the above rules.
Rule Five - Upar waale chaaro rules lagbhag 95% shabdoN par laagu hote hai. Jin 5% verb par yah
rule laagu nahee hote hai unakee alag list banaanee chaahiye.

Lie = Lying
Open = Opening
See = Seeing
Be = Being
