The Verb - क्रिया

Intransitive Verb

वह क्रिया जिसे वाक्य के पूरे अर्थ को व्यक्त करने के लिये object की जरूरत नही पड़ती, वह एक अकर्मक क्रिया (Intransitive verb) है।  दूसरे शब्दों में, एक Intransitive Verb बिना किसी Object के अपने वाक्य का पूरा अर्थ व्यक्त करती है, जिसका अर्थ Intransitive Verb केवल Subject तक सीमित है।

The verb that does not require an object to express the full meaning of the sentence is an intransitive verb. In other words, an Intransitive Verb expresses the full meaning of its sentence without any object, meaning the Intransitive Verb is limited to the subject only.

Note: यदि हमें किसी क्रिया के साथ 'क्या या किसको' लगाने से कुछ जवाब नही मिलता है, तो वह एक अकर्मक (Intransitive) क्रिया है।

If we do not get some answer by applying 'what or whom' to a verb, then it is an Intransitive Verb.

Examples

नदियाँ बहती हैं। Rivers flow.
कुत्ते दौड़ते हैं। Dogs run.
चिड़िया उड़ती है। Birds fly.
वर्तिका रोती नहीं है। Vartika does not weep.
बच्चा मां की गोद में सोता है। The child sleeps in the mother's arms.

उपरोक्त वाक्यों में, क्रिया (flow, run, fly, weep & sleep) का action कर्ता तक ही सीमित है और किसी भी Object पर नहीं पारित हो रहा है। यदि हम क्रिया के साथ 'क्या या किसको' सवाल करते हैं, तो हमें कोई जवाब नहीं मिलता है।

In the above sentences, the action of the verb (flow, run, fly, weep & sleep) is confined to the Subject and is not passing on any object. If we question 'what or whose' with the verb, we get no answer.

Regular Verbs - Irregular Verbs

नियमित क्रियाओं और अनियमित क्रियाओं को समझने से पहले, हमें क्रियाओं के रूपों के बारे में अपने ज्ञान को दोहराना चाहिए।

Before understanding Regular Verbs and Irregular Verbs, we must reiterate our knowledge of the forms of verbs.

Forms of Verbs

क्रिया की तीन फ़ॉर्म होती है - जैसे वर्ब Steal-बनाना की तीन फ़ॉर्म इस प्रकार है - (1) पहली फ़ॉर्म -चोरी करता है (2) द्वितीय फ़ॉर्म - चोरी की (3) तृतीय फ़ॉर्म - चोरी की थी।

Verb has three forms - (1) Base form - Ist Form (2) Past Simple - 2nd Form (3) Past Participle - 3rd Form

For example, Steal – stole – stolen. “Steal" is the base form, “stole" is the past simple form, and “stolen" is the past participle form. These three forms are known as 1st form, 2nd form and 3rd form of verb.
