The Noun - संज्ञा

Collective Noun

यह व्यक्तियों, स्थानों या चीजों के समूह के नाम को संदर्भित करता है। दूसरे शब्दों में, Nouns जो व्यक्तियों, चीजों, स्थानों, या वस्तुओं के समूह को दर्शाते हैं, सामूहिक Nouns हैं।

It refers to the name of a group of persons, places or things. In other words, Nouns which denote a group of persons, things, places or objects are Collective Nouns.

जब एक संज्ञा को एक इकाई के रूप में या एक वाक्य में एक ग्रुप के रूप में उपयोग किया जाता है, तो हम सिंगुलर वर्ब का उपयोग करते हैं। जब सामूहिक संज्ञा का उपयोग समूह के व्यक्तिगत सदस्यों को संदर्भित करने के लिए किया जाता है, तो हम प्लुरल वर्ब का उपयोग करते हैं।

When a collective noun is used as a single unit or as a group in a sentence, we use a singular verb. When collective nouns are used to refer to individual members of the group, we use the plural verb.

We below certain words of Collective Nouns and use of verbs with them:

Crowd is/Crowds are Collection of people
People are/Peoples are Group of people
Mob is/Mobs are Collection of people
Jury is/Juries are Group of judges
Committee is/Committees are Group of officials
Fleet is/Fleets are Group of sheeps
Family is/Families are Group of family members
Flock is/Flocks are Group of animals
Herd is/Herds are Group of cattle
Police is/Police are Police Department or Group of Police officials

Concrete Noun

यह किसी भी उस चीज को संदर्भित करता है जिसे हम अपनी पांच इंद्रियों (see, hear, touch, smell or taste)के साथ अनुभव सकते हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में, Concrete Noun स्पर्शनीय है, और इसका भौतिक अस्तित्व है।

It refers to anything that we can perceive with our five senses (see, hear, touch, smell or taste). In other words, a Concrete Noun is tangible, and it has a physical existence.

Examples: Book, Fire, Chair, Car, Table, Container, Cow, Stone, Tears, Water, Kavita, Delhi, Computer, Cat, Tiger, Child, etc.
