ELC-4th Day

Verbs normally not used in Present Continuous Tense

Verbs of Perception - अनुभूति, बोध: See, hear, smell, taste, feel, prefer

जब इन वर्ब्स का बोध, अनुभूति (जैसे देखना, सुनना, सूंघना, आदि) सहज स्वतः होती है तब इनका प्रयोग Present Simple में ही करते हैं. जब कर्ता किसी उद्देश्य के लिए क्रिया करता है तब हम Present Continuous में करते हैं।

When the perception verbs (such as see, hear, smell, etc.) work spontaneously, then they are used only in Present Simple. When the subject performs an action for a purpose, then we use them in Present Continuous.

Verbs used to express feelings or state of mind: want, desire, wish, care, hate, hope, refuse, admire, believe, doubt, hope, believe.

Verbs of thinking: think, know, suppose, remember, realise, recall, mind, understand.

verbs of possession: own, belong, possess

Look at these sentences:
