Some other important Prepositions

Preposition को अंग्रेजी में "सबसे बड़े छोटे शब्द" कहा जाता है क्योंकि उनकी अंग्रेजी वाक्य संरचनाओं में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका होती है।

Prepositions are called as "biggest little words" in English as they have a very important role in English sentence formations. Let's now look at some of other important Prepositions:-

In front of - की उपस्थिति में, के सामने
वह हिस्सा जो उस दिशा में है जिसका वह सामना करता है।	The part that is in the direction it faces.
कृपया मुझे 4:30 बजे कॉलेज गेट के सामने मिलें।	Please meet me in front of the college gate at 4:30 pm.
मैं अपने पिता के सामने एक शब्द नहीं बोल सकता।	I can't speak a word in front of my father.
उन्होंने अपने वकील के सामने सारा नाटक किया।	He did all the drama in front of his advocate.
By - द्वारा, तक, के समीप
किसने बनाया या लिखा या रचना की है?	Who has made or written or created a thing?
मयूर रंग की पोशाक मीता ने डिज़ाइन की है।	The peacock coloured dress has been designed by Meeta.
यह पुस्तक एक प्रतिष्ठित प्रकाशक द्वारा प्रकाशित की गई है।	This book has been published by a reputed publisher.
नवीनतम (Latest) के अर्थ में।	In the sense of at the latest.
ट्रेन रात 11 बजे तक जयपुर पहुंच सकती है।	The train may reach Jaipur by 11 pm.
किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु के दाँये या बाँये	Left or right of somebody or something.
करन सिर्फ मेरी बाईं तरफ खड़ा था और चुप रहा।	Karan just stood by my left and remained quiet.

off - पृथक, बंद, से दूर
किसी चीज से दूर होना या बाहर निकलना।	To get away or out from something.
तुरंत ट्रेन से उतर जाओ।	Get off the train immediately.
कुछ बंद करने के लिए।	To close something.
शान्तुर ने बाहर निकलने से पहले लाइट बंद कर दी।	Shantur switched off the light before moving out.
कम होने का एहसास।	Feelings turning low.
पांच दिन की छुट्टी नहीं मिलने पर सोनिया का मूड खराब हो गया।	Sonia's mood turned off when she didn’t get a five-day leave.
दूरी।	Distance.
मैं दूर से हवा की सीटी सुन सकता हूं।	I can hear the wind whistling from far off.

Against - के विरुद्ध, प्रतिकूल
इसका इस्तेमाल विरोध करने के लिए किया जाता है।	It is used to oppose.
हरीश हमेशा मेरे फैसले के खिलाफ जाता है।	Harish always goes against my judgement.
इसका उपयोग कुछ ना करने के निर्देश देने के रूप में किया जाता है।	It is used as an instruction not to do anything.
कार के दरवाजे के प्रतिकूल झुकना मत।	Don’t lean against the car door.
