Correct Use of Some Adjectives

Little, a little, the little: Litle का शाब्दिक अर्थ भी नगण्य है। 'Little' का अर्थ भिन्न होता है जब हम Little से पहले आर्टिकल्स a/the लगाते हैं। Little हमेशा अगणनीय संज्ञाओं के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है।	The literal meaning of 'Little' is also negligible. The meaning of 'Little' differs when we put articles a/the before it. 'Little' is used for uncountable nouns.
'Little' का मतलब है 'नगण्य या कुछ नहीं'। 'Little' का अर्थ नकारात्मक है। यह अभाव का सूचक है और लगभग न के बराबर मात्रा बताता है।	'Little' means 'Hardly any'. 'Little' has a negative meaning. It is an indicator of inadequacy and tells almost negligible.
वह पढ़ाई में बहुत कम रुचि लेता है। (न के बराबर)	He takes little interest in the study.
उसकी घातक दुर्घटना हुई। उसके बचने की बहुत कम उम्मीद है। (न के बराबर)	He had a fatal accident. There is little hope for his survival.
आतंकवादियों को मानवता की बहुत कम चिंता है। (न के बराबर)	Terrorists have little concern for humanity.
'A little' का अर्थ है 'ज़्यादा नही पर कुछ / थोड़ा सा'। इसका अर्थ सकारात्मक है और नगण्य के विपरीत है।	'A little' means 'Not much but some'. It has a positive meaning and is opposed to none.
सुबह थोड़ी बारिश हुई।	It rained a little in the morning.
उसने अस्पताल में थोड़ा धैर्य दिखाया।	She showed a little patience in the hospital.
The little' का अर्थ है 'थोड़ा सा पर सब' अर्थात बहुत ज़्यादा नही परंतु जितना भी है वह सब।	'The little' means 'Not much, but all of that,' i.e. not much but all that is there.
उसके पास जो थोड़ा पैसा था उसने उसे जुए में खो दिया।	The little money she had, she lost it in gambling.
मुझे घर पर जो थोड़ा समय मिलता है, मैं उसे रचनात्मक कार्यों पर खर्च करता हूं।	The little time I get at home, I spend it on creative works.
जितना थोड़ा सा ज्ञान उसके पास था वह परीक्षा में पास होने के लिए पर्याप्त नही था।	The little knowledge he had was not enough to pass the exam.

Few और Little के विभिन्न उपयोगों को समझने के लिए, आइए एक उदाहरण देखें।	To understand the different uses of Few and Little, let's see an example.
समर के पास कुछ पेन और थोड़ा दूध था, और उसने रजनी को तीन पेन और एक कप दूध दिया।	Samar had few pens and little milk, and he gave three pens and a cup of milk to Rajni.
उपरोक्त वाक्य गलत है क्योंकि 'Few' और 'Little' का उपयोग नगण्य संख्या और ना के बराबर मात्रा को दर्शाता है, फिर वह इसे रजनी को कैसे दे सकता है।	The above sentence is incorrect because the use of 'few' and 'little' denotes negligible number and next to nil quantity, then how he can give it to Rajni.
इसलिए सही उपयोग 'a few' और 'a little' का होना चाहिए था।	Therefore the correct use should have been 'a few' and 'a little'.
समर ने उसके पास जो थोड़ी बहुत टॉफियां थी खा लीं और जो थोड़ा सा पानी था उसे भी पी लिया, और उसके बाद, उसने अंकित को दो टॉफियां और कुछ पानी दिया।	Samar ate 'the few' toffees he had and drank 'the little' water that he had, and after that, he gave two toffees and some water to Ankit.
उपरोक्त वाक्य भी गलत है क्योंकि 'समर ने जो थोड़ी बहुत टॉफियां थी खा लीं ' और 'समर ने जो थोड़ा सा पानी था उसे पी लिया' का मतलब है कि कुछ भी नहीं बचा था, फिर समर अंकित को कैसे दे सकता है।	The above sentence is also incorrect because 'Samar ate the few toffees' and 'Samar drank the little water' mean that nothing was left, then how Samar can give to Ankit.
