Past Perfect Tense - Page-2

Time Factor In Present Perfect, Past Indefinite and Past Perfect Tenses

Time is an important factor in Present Perfect Tense, Past Indefinite Tense and Past Perfect Tense. If time comes in Present Perfect Tense and Past Perfect Tense, they become Past Indefinite Tense. Here the meaning of time does not include certain indicator words -" just, yet, so far, upto no, recently, etc".

In other words, these indicator words - " just, yet, so far, upto now, recently, etc" can come in Present Perfect Tense and Past Perfect Tense but if time -"five minutes, two days, three years, 2012, yesterday, etc" comes in Present Perfect Tense and Past Perfect Tense, they are considered as Past Indefinite Tense.

Present Perfect Tense, Past Indefinite Tense aur Past Perfect Tense meN samay ek mahatvapoorN tathya hai. Yadi Present Perfect Tense (aayaa hai, chukaa hai, chukee hai) aur Past Perfect Tence (aayaa thaa, chukaa thaa, chukee thee) meiN samay aa jaaye to vah Past Indefinite Tense ban jaataa hai. YahaaN samay ke antargat kuchh shabd "abhee, haal hee meN, ab tak, aadee" nahee aate hai.

Doosare shabdoN meN, Present Perfect Tense aur Past Perfect Tense meiN yah shabd "abhee, haal hee meN, ab tak, aadee" to aa sakate hai parantu yadi samay "paanch minute, do din, kal, parso, 2012" aaye to vah Past Indefinite kahalaayenge chaahe vaakya ke ant meiN "aayaa hai, aayaa thaa, chukaa hai, chukaa thaa, gaya hai, gayaa thaa, aadee" aaye.

Geeta ghar aa chukee Past Indefinite Tense Geeta came home.
Geeta ghar aa chukee hai. Present Perfect Tense Geeta has come home.
Geeta ghar aa chukee thee. Past Perfect Tense Geeta had come home.

‘Liyaa hai’, ‘Chukee hai’ – Action bolate samay hee complete huaa hai isliye yah present perfect tense kee pahachaan hai.
‘Liyaa', ‘Chukee’ - Action bolane se kuchh samay pahale hee complete ho gayaa isliye yah past indefinite tense kee pahachaan hai.
‘Liyaa thaa’, ‘Chukaa thaa’ - Action bolane se bahut pahale complete ho gayaa thaa isliye yah past perfect tense kee pahachaan hai.

Agar upar likhe gaye teeno vaakyo meiN samay kaa prayog ho jaaye, to teeno vaakya past indefinite tense meiN hee translate honge.

Geeta das minute pahale ghar aa chukee Past Indefinite Tense Geeta came home ten minutes ago.
