Type of Sentence Rule
Interrogative Had + Subject + been + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + Object + For/Since + Time + Remaining + (?)
Interrogative & Negative Had + Subject + Not + been + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + Object + For/Since + Time + Remaining + (?)


Past Perfect Continuous Interrogative sentence starts with 'Had' and 'Been' remains just before the verb (first form + 'Ing'). Question Mark (?) is affixed at the end of sentence in place of Full Stop (.). In Interrogative and Negative Sentence, 'Not' is added just before 'Been'. 'Been' and 'verb' remain together.

Past Perfect Continuous Interrogative vaakya 'Had' se shuru hote hai aur 'Been' ko 'Verb kee first form + Ing' se pahale lagaate hai. Vaakya ke ant meiN full stop (.) kee jagah prashnavaachak chinh (?) lagaate hai. Isake prashnavaachak aur nakaaraatmak vaakya meiN 'Not' ko 'Been' se pahale lagaate hai aur 'Been' verb ke saath rahataa hai.

2nd Person Had you been staying awake since Friday for the exam?
3rd Person -Singular Had he/she/it/Ram been staying awake since Friday for the exam?
3rd Person -Plural Had they/boys been staying awake since Friday for the exam?

Ist person Had I not been attending the meetings since the birth of my son.
Ist Person -Plural Had we not been attending the meetings since the birth of my son.

Shantur had been waiting for my reply since Ist January. Shantur mere jawaab kaa intajaar Ist January se kar rahaa thaa.
Had you been driving that car for the last three years? Kyaa tum us car ko pichhale teen saalon se chalaa rahe thay?
The gardener had been watering the plants since 6 O’clock in the morning. Maalee subah ke 6 baje se paudhoN ko paanee de rahaa thaa.
Had she been writing a book for the last two months? Kyaa pichhale do mahine se vah ek kitab likh rahee thee?
Boys had been watching television since evening. Bachche shaam se television dekh rahe thay.
The train had been running for five hours. Train paanch ghanTe se chal rahee thee.
He had been dealing in computer hardware business since 2011. Vah 2011 se computer hardware kaa vyaapaar kar rahaa thaa.
You had been cramming the same lesson for the last 35 minutes. Tum pichhale 35 minute se ek hee paaTh kaa raTTaa lagaa rahee thee.
She had been knocking at the door for 2 hours. Vah do ghanTe se darawaajaa khaTakhaTaa rahee thee.
