Alternative Type Questions

Alternative Type question is a question that offers the listener two or more possible choices and presuming that only one choice is true. In conversation, each option receives a separate pitch and the final option is said with a falling intonation, showing that the choice is complete

Vikalp Prakaar ke PrashnA (Alternative Type question) men shrotaa ko do yaa do se adhik vikalp diye jaate hai yah maan kar kee ek vikalp sahee hai. Bolchaal men har ek vikalp ko alag tone men bolaa jaataa hai tathaa aakharee vikalp men tone dheere ho jaatee hai jo kee sanket hai kee vikalp (choices) khatm ho gaye hai.

Tumane kaun see kitab khareedee, aadhyaatmik yaa history yaa koi nahee? Which book did you buy, spiritual or history or neither?
Us baat par tum gussaa huay thay yaa nahee? Had you got angry on that matter or not?
Aap Chocolate, Vanilla yaa Butter-scotch ice cream pasand karenge? Would you like chocolate, vanilla, or Butter-scotch ice cream?


Declarative Type Questions

A declarative sentence states a fact or an argument. It is a common type of sentence. Sometimes declarative sentences are used to express surprise or ask for verification from the listener by raising voice in question tone at the end of the sentence. While writing declarative question, it is written in affirmative sentence and only question mark is put at the end of affirmative sentence. A declarative question is mostly used in informal speeches.

GhoshaNaatmak prashnsuchak vaakya sweekaaratmak vaakyo kee tarah hee hote hai. Kabhee kabhee ghoshaNaatmak vaakyo ko aashcharya vyakt karane ke liye yaa shrotaa se kuchh jaanchane ke liye vaakya ke ant men aawaaj ko unchaa kar prashnaatmak lahaje meiN kahate hai. Ve Declarative Question kee shreNee men aate hai. Likhane men yah sweekaaratmak vaakya hee hote hai kewal ant men prashnA chinh lagataa hai. Declarative question jyaadaatar bolchaal men prayog hotaa hai.

Kyaa barsaat ho rahee hai? (SaadharaN Prashnavaachak vaakya Is it raining? (normal interrogative)
Barsaat ho rahee hai? (SaadharaN vaakya parantu Prashnaatmak lehja) It is raining? (Simple sentence but tone is interrogative)
Khaane men kuchh hai? (naa) bolaa nahee jaataa par 'naa' kaa lahajaa prashnA paidaa karataa hai. There is something to eat?
Maine chaabi le lee hai? (naa) bolaa nahee jaataa par 'naa' kaa lahajaa prashnA paidaa karataa hai. I have taken the key?
Tum sab kudane ko taiyaar ho? (naa) bolaa nahee jaataa par 'naa' kaa lahajaa prashnA paidaa karataa hai. You are all ready to jump?

Rhetorical Type Questions

A Rhetorical question is one that does not expect or require an answer because the answer is obvious and does not need to be stated. The speaker of Rhetorical question does not look for an answer, he uses it to point out something or to impress upon something or to attract attention of listeners. In other words, A Rhetorical question implies its own answer; it’s a way of making a point.

Rhetorical question, is prakaar kaa prashnA hai jisakaa jawaab nahee denaa hotaa kyonki Answer sabhee ko pataa hotaa hai aur kahane kee jaroorat nahee hotee. Rhetorical question kahane waalaa jawaab kee ummeed nahee karataa, vah to kewal kisee cheej ko ingit karane ke liye yaa baat ko prashnA ke roop men kahakar prabhaavit karane ke liye yaa shrotaao kaa dhyaan aakarshit karane ke liye Rhetorical question kaa prayog karataa hai. Doosare shabdoN men, Rhetorical question men hee isakaa jawaab shaamil hotaa hai, yah kisee cheej ko ingit karane kaa tareeka hai.

On any statement, a curious person asks number of questions together by using one or two words, comes in the category of Short questions.

Kisee vyaktavya (statement) par ati utsuk vyakti ek saath kai sawaal ek do shabdoN men poochhataa hai, vah Short question kee shreNee men aate hai.
