Adjective - VisheshaN

An Adjective modifies a noun. It describes the quality, state, size, colour, quantity, characteristic, action, etc of a noun or pronoun.

Example : smart boy, beautiful girl, black dog, strong base, good advice. Words 'smart', 'beautiful', 'black', 'strong', 'good' are Adjectives and give more information/description about noun.

VisheshaN sangyaa kee visheshataa bataataa hai. Yah noun/pronoun kee visheshataa, sthiti, size, rang, charitra ityaadee sabhee ke baare meiN bataataa hai.

UdahaaraN : smart laDakaa, sundar laDakee, kaalaa kuttaa, majboot aadhaar, achchhee salaah. Shabd 'smart', 'sundar', 'kaalaa', 'majboot', 'achchhee' visheshaN hai jo noun ke baare meiN jyaadaa suchnaa/vivraN dete hai.

More than one Adjective can also be used for a single noun or pronoun in one sentence.
Example :
A good airline employs tall air hostesses.
A good airline employs tall and smart air hostesses.
A good airline employs tall, smart and intelligent air hostesses.

Ek se jyaadaa visheshaN ek hee vaakya meiN ek hee noun ke saath aa sakate hai.
UdahaaraN :
Achchhee airline lambee air hostess ko niyukt karatee hai.
Achchhee airline lambee aur sundar air hostess ko niyukt karatee hai.
Achchhee airline lambi, sundar aur budhhimaan air hostess ko niyukt karatee hai.


Use of Adjective

Adjective is used in sentence at two places depending upon the structure of sentence. 1. Before noun 2. After some verbs such as seem, look, feel etc)

Adjective vaakya meiN do jagah istemaal hotaa hai (1) Noun se pahale aur (2) Kuchh verb se pahale.
Examples of Adjectives before noun

Avyan is an intelligent boy. Avyan ek buddhimaan laDakaa hai. intelligent
A symptom of Dengue fever is high fever. Tej bukhaar Dengue bukhaar kaa lakShan hai. high
Every dog has his day Har kutte kaa apanaa din hotaa hai. every
Vartika won the first prize. Vartika ne pratham puruskaar jeeta. first
My sister lives in the next house. Meree bahan agale makaan meiN rahatee hai. next
Mind your own business. Apane kaam se matlab rakho. own
His hand has six fingers. Usake haath meiN chhah ungaliyaaN hai. six
Most boys like the cricket. Jyaadaatar bachche cricket pasand karate hai. most
I have not seen you for many days Maine kai dino se tumhe nahee dekhaa hai. many

It appears difficult. Yah mushkil lagataa hai. difficult
Food in your marriage was delicious. Tumhaaree shaadee meiN khaanaa tasty thaa. delicious
Mothers should not become angry on kids. Maataao ko bachcho par gussaa nahee honaa chaahiye. angry
The bride looks beautiful. Dulhan sundar dikhatee hai. beautiful
The target seems simple for you. LakShaya tumhaare liye aasaan hai. simple
You fly high. Tum unchaa udo. high
Do not become naughty. Sharaaratee mat bano. naughty
